Wavepools are a polarizing topic amongst surfers . Some question the legitimacy of an artificial wave while others like myself cannot sing their praises enough. A few weeks ago along with my friends Robbie Browne and Joey Testeverde accompanied by our water safety crew we got to spend two whole days at the Palm Springs Surf Club. The trip was made possible by Rick Solomon, a staunch supporter of Surf for All and avid fan of wavepools. We were able to share this experience with members of the United States Adaptive Surf team who joined us for our sessions.

While nothing will ever replace the magic of the ocean. Wavepools make it possible to catch more waves than we ever could in a typical surf session and keep our support staff fresh allowing us to test our limits without significant consequences in a controlled environment unlike the unpredictable waters of Mother Nature. Over the course of these two days unforgettable memories and friendships were formed that will forever be bonded by our love of surfing and cheering for each other’s waves. All of us that are lucky enough to be involved with Surf for all cannot thank everyone who supports the organization however they are able to.
